Digital Management's New Healthcare Division Scores Its First Win With $4 Million National Institutes of Health (NIH) Contract
Bethesda, MD—June 6, 2009—Digital Management, Inc. (www.digitalmanagement.com), a leading IT solutions and business strategy consulting firm, announced today that its new healthcare division has scored its first major win, a $4 million National Institutes of Health (NIH) contract with the Division of Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives (DPCPSI). Under the five-year contract, Digital Management will play both a strategic and an operational role helping DPCPSI achieve its mission of identifying promising new opportunities in scientific and healthcare research.
DPCPSI needed a strategic partner to address new and expanding analysis, reporting, and evaluation Congressional mandates in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). To achieve DPCPSI objectives, the Digital Management team will develop a data integration layer to enable analysis of large diverse data sets drawn from disparate sources. Once data is integrated, biomedical science and portfolio analysis experts from Digital Management will apply analytical and data mining techniques as well as cutting-edge visual analytic tools to identify new opportunities to further advance science, medicine and healthcare.
"Our ability to quickly assemble a hand-picked team of experts with more than 65 combined years of NIH experience in biomedical science, knowledge management, portfolio analysis and evaluation made Digital Management the clear choice for NIH," said Jay Sunny Bajaj, Digital Management's CEO.
According to Dr. Timothy C. Hays, PhD, Vice President of Digital Management's Healthcare Division, "NIH has a vast store of scientific and healthcare research information. Using new analytical, predictive modeling, and visualization techniques to explore this information comprehensively could reveal important new research trends and strategic opportunities. We are thrilled to play our part helping DPCPSI identify new scientific theories as well as opportunities for research and investment that could advance science more quickly to improve public health."
With its growing new healthcare division, spearheaded by Dr. Hays, Digital Management looks to leverage technology to drive innovation in healthcare, helping Federal healthcare agencies find new predictive diagnostic metrics and tools, reduce healthcare costs, advance biomedical science, and transform healthcare delivery.
